EXPRESS ENTRY
Express Entry is a system used by the Canadian government to manage and process applications for permanent residency from skilled foreign workers. It is a points-based system that assesses applicants based on various factors, such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability.
Here are the key steps involved in the Express Entry process:
Eligibility Criteria: Determine if you meet the eligibility requirements for one of the three federal economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Create an Online Profile: If you are eligible, you need to create an online Express Entry profile. This profile will provide information about your skills, work experience, education, language ability, and other relevant details. You will be assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on the information provided.
CRS Score and Ranking: Your CRS score is determined by factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. The highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for permanent residency through regular draws from the Express Entry pool.
Invitation to Apply (ITA): If you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), you will have a specified period (usually 60 days) to submit a complete application for permanent residency.
Permanent Residency Application: Gather all the required documents, including police certificates, medical exams, educational credentials, work references, and proof of funds. Submit your complete application within the given timeframe.
Application Assessment: The Canadian immigration authorities will review your application, conduct background checks, and verify the information provided. If everything is in order, you may be issued a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
Landing in Canada: Once you have the COPR, you can proceed with making travel arrangements to Canada. Upon arrival, you will undergo a final check by a border officer before officially becoming a permanent resident.
It’s important to note that the Express Entry system is competitive, and meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an invitation to apply. Your CRS score plays a significant role in determining your chances of receiving an ITA. Keeping your profile up to date and enhancing your CRS score through factors like improving language skills or obtaining additional education can increase your chances of success. It is advisable to consult the official Canadian government website or seek guidance from a qualified immigration professional for the most accurate and up-to-date information on the Express Entry process.
